What I’m Learning as an Intern at SOAR

At the beginning of September 2024, I started an exciting journey by joining the SOAR Media team as a marketing intern. From the start, my experience has been interesting and rewarding. My first week was especially eventful, as I joined the team and began to help organize Ferrari of Atlanta’s Rides to Remember 2024. Rides to Remember is an event that happens yearly to support those fighting pediatric cancer. This experience was rewarding and allowed me to understand how events are run. Rides to Remember was a fast-paced weekend involving organization, event planning, and so much more. This weekend fully immersed me into SOAR Media and allowed me to quickly gain hands-on experience. It was the perfect introduction to joining the team and starting my internship journey.

Within my first few days, I was given the opportunity to contribute in meaningful ways. From day one, I was entrusted with tasks that allowed me to apply what I had learned in school and pushed me to grow further. My coworkers have been welcoming and supportive and work alongside me in new tasks. I am provided with guidance in all areas and feel appreciated by my team! Joining client meetings has also been a valuable experience, giving me a front-row seat to the strategic decision-making process. I’ve had the chance to contribute my own ideas, which has boosted my confidence and sharpened my understanding of the marketing landscape.

In one of my projects, I had the exciting opportunity to create a month-long content calendar. This experience allowed me to showcase both my creative and strategic skills as I planned a variety of posts. My responsibilities included creating compelling captions, working with graphic designers to produce engaging visuals, and strategically scheduling posts. I thoroughly enjoyed this process and look forward to further honing these skills while deepening my understanding of content strategy!

As I look back on these past few weeks, I realize just how much I’ve grown, not only in terms of skill but also in discovering more about my strengths. Working on content briefs, website design, and collaborating on social media strategies has given me hands-on experience in all areas.

As a college student graduating in December, I could not have asked for a better agency to gain real-world experience. So far, my internship has provided me with skills and insights that I know will be in-valuable as I begin my post-graduate career. I am looking forward to continuing to learn and contribute to the success of SOAR Media in the coming months. My experience so far has exceeded my expectations, and I am grateful for the opportunity to grow in such a supportive environment.

Stay tuned for more updates on my journey with SOAR Media!
